YUKIMURA-RYU II

This workshop builds on the content from "Ropeknights Yukimura Ryu I".

Participants will revisit familiar ties and deepen their understanding of these techniques. Along with learning new rope patterns, emphasis will be placed on the Japanese aesthetic of form. The focus will expand to include scenarios, personas, Ki (energy), and Kotobazeme (verbal techniques), allowing participants to explore the concept of "tension" on multiple levels. Once again, the primary goal is to evoke emotions through the how of tying.

Throughout the weekend, the understanding of both partners' roles will be further refined, with special focus on the importance of letting the ties have their effect as well as the actual tying actions. This dynamic becomes an integral part of the overall tying experience.

FOR WHO?

This workshop is aimed at bondage couples who have previously attended the "Ropeknights Yukimura Ryu I" workshop and are looking to delve deeper into the world of Yukimura Ryu and Michael Ropeknights approach. Since this is ultimately a world of eroticism, there should be no fear of intimacy between the bondage partners.

WHAT TO BRING?

  • Models are encouraged to wear clothing with potential for exposure (e.g. no leggings and tights)

  • Approx. 5-7 ropes are required - recommended rope: 7 to 8m long, 4-5mm in diameter.

  • Bring a blanket to use as a base.

ABOUT ROPEKNIGHT

Michael Ropeknight had the opportunity to experience and learn different styles of Shibari during his various trips to Japan.

He studied under several well-known Bakushi and became an official student of Osada Steve, who shortly thereafter introduced him to Yukimura Haruki Sensei.

In the following years, Michael spent a great deal of time with these two masters, studying their techniques and philosophies.

Yukimura Sensei and Osada Steve described his emotional abilities in dealing with his Shibari partners and his use of energetic components (Ki) as extraordinary. Not only because of these exceptional strengths did both masters honor him by appointing him as an official instructor of their styles.

In 2024, Michael decided to retire as an official Osada-Ryu instructor, as physical limitations no longer allowed him to teach suspensions at the highest level. Since then, he has focused on his core competencies: deepened communication and personal development for all participants involved in rope. With this focus on Ropeknight’s Yukimura-Ryu, Michael brings valuable insights into the emotional and mental connection between partners, thus fostering the development of a mindful and conscious dynamic in Shibari.

In recent years, Ropeknight has further developed the Yukimura-Ryu within a Western mindset, making it a cornerstone in the training of rope enthusiasts around the world by incorporating his unique strengths and understanding of the human soul—just as Yukimura Sensei had expected of him.

ABOUT CandyDandelion

CandyDandelion (alter ego Alice in Nawaland on Instagram) was introduced to the art of shibari in 2018 and quickly became enamored with Al-Walthery's skillful sadistic ties. Their partnership has continued to this day, with CandyDandelion teaching alongside Al-Walthery in Liège and Brussels.

She has been featured on stage by renowned riggers including Yoi Yoshida, Marc Akuaku, and Tati Limati and performing together with Al-Walthery at Onawa Asobi festival in Shibari Lounge in 2024.

In 2023, she joins Studio TIEY. She becomes the teaching model for Michael Ropeknight, known for his empathetic, intuitive, and unique approach, and performs with Yagami Ren, who explores the duality between pleasure and pain. She also headlines with Naka sensei in his 2025 Nawa Kai at the studio.

She is highly sought after as a model for both photography and public performances, known for her pure and expressive emotions that she exudes during the intense connections she creates as an ukete. She is open to exploring various contexts, such as nature, underwater settings, abandoned places, workshops, and public sessions.

Nuit de Tokyo & Kudo Akane @StudioTIEY

to Feb 8

Nuit de Tokyo & Kudo Akane @StudioTIEY

We are honoured to announce that Nuit de Tokyo & Kudō Akane will be visiting Studio TIEY again.
During their visit, they will cover three distinct subjects to inspire you on your rope journey:

  • The model as the centre of shibari (Weekend workshop)

  • Tying with/as an adult video model (Friday evening workshop)

  • Guided Yukimura-style sessions (Saturday evening)

“Learning from the model”: the model as THE centEr of shibari

"Shibari wa model-san ni atte koto"
Shibari only exists because of the person tied.
~ Yukimura Haruki

Nawa wo miruna !
Do not look at the rope !
~ Yukimura Haruki

When taking lessons from Yukimura Haruki, he would often tell us : “do not look at the rope, look at the model”.
This will be the motto for this two days workshop with Kudō Akane, a top professional rope model and AV actress who often worked for Yukimura Haruki’s lessons and Nuit de Tokyo, aka Haru Kakeru.

We will start with a session with a focus on the persons tied where Akane and Nuit de Tokyo will explain the intricacies of being a non-immobile model, a resisting model, a process known as teikō (抵抗 resistance)

We will follow with a session where each person tying will be facing Akane with one rope.

More generally during the course of the two days, Akane will often rotate with each person tying, and we will try to reproduce for each participant the experience of taking a private lesson in Tokyo. Including Akane commenting on her feelings.

The first day will be spent on various poses with rope, each time concentrating on the execution, the feeling (気持ち kimochi) of the model and not on the rope forms or poses.

On the second day, we will add non rope ingredients, various forms of torment (seme), including word torment (kotoba seme), looking at shibari as not so much tying the body than tying the heart, the mind of the person, something that  can be achieved with rope but not only with rope and sometimes not with rope only.

PREREQUISITES

The workshop can be visited by beginners-level (not complete beginners) to advanced participants.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Max. 6 ropes are required - recommended rope: 7 to 8 m – 4-5 mm rope is preferred.

  • The easiest, but not mandatory, clothing for these 2 days is a simple cotton summer kimono (yukata) or an under-kimono (juban). We will provide a few for the use of the participants.

SCHEDULE

  • Saturday 07/02 from 11h00 - 18h00

  • Sunday 08/02 from 11h00 - 18h00

Tying with/as an adult video model
“AV poi… back to VHS…”

A one-of-a-kind workshop that invites you to step into the captivating world of legendary adult publications from the vibrant 90s and 00s!
It is a format that many have been dreaming of and now you have the opportunity to become part of the experience.

Acting (演技engi ) is the process by which one is creating an illusion which is accepted as reality by the viewer. It is usually frowned upon in live sm shows or sm movies as being non authentic, at the same time it is the basic ingredient of movies. Saturday and Sunday will center on real feelings (本気 honki, for real), but Friday will be centered on image and engi

We will in this session look mainly at the output of AV company Cinemagic, who under the direction of Yoshimura Shoichi employed Nureki Chimuo, Yukimura Haruki, Akechi Denki, Naka Akira as a well as uber famous AV director Tohjiro. We will look at the period 1990-2005 which was the golden age of SM VHS as well as arguably the best period of magazine SM Sniper, where Yukimura Haruki published photos coming from his personal indies VHS production, which we will also look at.

The main characteristic was that the persons tied were AV actresses and not kinbaku models, so poses had to be comfortable, rope marks would lead to the bakushi being fined, but the audience had to be satisfied with the expressions of harsh suffering displayed by the actresses, who had to have polished their acting

Format: We will look at several poses in VHS movies, then reproduce them and if you have brought your camera take some photos. Akane will be on hand to help with the pose, the expression, the direction of the eyes, and will be tied a few times.

Participants who own cosplay items, or specific clothes are welcome to bring them. Some of the fantasies addressed in the Cinemagic movies, beyond the ubiquitous schoolgirl and maid themes include secretaries, schoolteachers, nurses, widows, convent sisters, beer girls, F1 and moto GP grid girls…Underwear is often an important part of the image… And as you can see the period was marked, for various reasons, by a strong element of western clothing (洋服yōfuku) and will not look at Japanese clothing (和服 wafuku) for this session.

Nuit de Tokyo (e.g. “We love Kabuki-Cho” by Kano Hana & Yagami Ren, edited by Studio TIEY), will dig in his documentation both videos and magazines to describe what made the success at the time of Cinemagic and bring a repertoire of poses. The final choice will be made by participants.

PREREQUISITES

The workshop can be attended by beginners-level (not complete beginners) to advanced participants.
The person tied has to be comfortable with nudity and explicit poses.

WHAT TO BRING

  • Max. 6 ropes are required - recommended rope: 7 to 8 m. 5mm ideal.

  • It will be helpful if the person tied can bring different sets of clothes that could enhance the photographic experience.

  • Bring your phone or camera for capturing the moment.

SCHEDULE

  • Friday 06/02 from 19h30 - 23h30

Guided Yukimura-style sessions with Nuit de Tokyo & KudO Akane

Join us for an immersive evening of Yukimura-style tying, led by Nuit de Tokyo & Kudō Akane.

The goal is to learn and practice Yukimura-style tying in a natural and fluid way. An expert will lead you through the steps. This approach provides a hands-on learning experience, unlike structured, theory-based teaching. The sessions focus on real-time practice. You will improve your fluency and flow as you tie.

During the evening, Nuit de Tokyo & Kudō Akane will host two sessions. In each session, surrounded by you and other couples, they will start tying. Nuit de Tokyo will explain his choices and demonstrate a path to help you practice and improve your Yukimura-style tying. You can explore different paths on your own or return to Nuit de Tokyo’s technique during your session.

After your session, you can quietly enjoy the experiences of others until the session ends. We will then gather in a circle where you can share your insights or challenges in a safe environment. Nuit de Tokyo and Kudō Akane will offer suggestions based on what you share.

Between and after the sessions, enjoy a relaxed rope-salon atmosphere, perfect for socializing, connecting, or continuing to tie.

PREREQUISITES

This evening is intended for bondage couples who wish to explore the world of Yukimura-ryu together. Because this practice ultimately involves elements of eroticism, a level of comfort with intimacy between partners is essential.

The guided sessions are open to participants of all experience levels, from beginners to advanced. Ideally, you have already attended one of our Yukimura workshops with Michael RopeKnight in the past; however, if you haven’t, you are still warmly welcome to join and get a first taste of what Yukimura-ryu can offer.

WHAT TO BRING?

  • Models are encouraged to wear clothing with potential for exposure (e.g. no leggings and tights).

  • Max. 7 ropes are required - recommended rope: 7 to 8m long, 4-5 mm ideal

  • Bring a blanket to use as a base.

SCHEDULE

  • Saturday 07/02 from 20h30 - 00h00

    • 20h00 | Doors open, welcome, settle in

    • 20h30 | Doors close, start of the program:

About Kudo Akane

Kudō Akane is a highly renowned Japanese model, having served as a model for Yukimura Haruki during his final years across numerous sessions. She continues to collaborate regularly with several of Yukimura's students, including Ibarako, Murasaki and Nuit de Tokyo, among others. Additionally, she has recorded sessions with Naka Akira and has partnered with various prominent bakushi. Occasionally, she also works at SM bars. As a photographic model, she is in great demand due to her ability to gracefully surrender in rope and her inherent Japanese elegance in a variety of poses.

About Nuit de Tokyo

Nuit de Tokyo’s first encounter with shibari was in the early nineties during his frequent travels to Tokyo, while starting to accumulate documentation for his personal books, magazines, VHS and DVD library, now exceeding 10 000 items.

From the mid 2000s he stayed long term in Tokyo and formally started learning rope from Osada Steve. Shortly after he was taught by Yukimura Haruki Sensei for nearly eight years until his Sensei passed away. He was meeting him once or twice a month, tying a different model every time. He received the 3rd instructor license in Yukimura style under the name Haru Kakeru and was assistant to Yukimura Sensei for workshops in Copenhagen and Los Angeles.

In addition, Nuit de Tokyo has studied several years with Akechi Kanna after 2010, as well as taken individual lessons from Nureki Chimuo, Oda Hisashi, Nawashi Monko, Randa Mai, Miura Takumi, Arisue Go, Shima Shikō, Saikatsu, Hige, Masato Marai, HarutoKyō and some others.
Nuit de Tokyo has performed several times in Tokyo, Hong Kong and other places.

A Weekend with RopeKnight & CandyDandelion

INTRODUCTION TO YUKIMURA-RYU I

DAY 1

On the first day, participants will learn about the fundamental philosophical approaches of Yukimura Haruki's tying style. Ropeknight has further developed this  style for the Western spirit, making his own approaches, building blocks and nuance accessible and easy to learn for both beginners and experienced tying couples.

Terms such as Semenawa and Aibunawa will be analyzed, and participants will learn their first basic ties.

The more experienced the tying partner, the more they can focus on the nuances of working with the model.

The introduction of a special mindset, as well as possible approaches and behaviors in the interaction between partners, plays a significant role.

There will be ample opportunity for the further development of both partners' personas and their shared communication.

DAY 2

The ties, techniques and approaches developed on the first day will be used to explore more complex ties. The primary focus will be on evoking emotions through the how of implementing the ties.

FOR WHO?

This workshop is aimed at bondage couples who want to explore the world of Yukimura Ryu together. Since this is ultimately a world of eroticism, there should be no fear of intimacy between the bondage partners.
