Pristine fundamentals - The deep structure beneath every advanced tie
This two-day intensive is dedicated to the craft of fundamentals—understood not as a beginner’s domain, but as the deep structure beneath every advanced tie.
We will return to the basics not to simplify, but to refine: to explore the quiet mechanics of a wrap, the subtle balance of a knot, the tempo of a rope that moves without waste.
The focus will be on:
structural clarity and inner coherence;
clean and functional frictions and knots;
transitions that do not interrupt the rope’s intent.
We will discuss how to tie with the presence, clarity, and precision expected in a professional context. Not through ornament or speed, but through consistency, attention, and restraint.
The content is designed for:
advanced riggers who want to refine the quality of their technique;
instructors and assistants who support others in learning and wish to elevate their demonstration work;
experienced practitioners who already tie with clean fundamentals, but wish to deepen their sensitivity and teaching vocabulary.
Even the most basic wrap is never “just” a wrap.
It is a form of practice—a mirror of breath, contact, rhythm.
We return to the beginning not because we forget, but because we remember what matters.

ABOUT Kirigami & Tenshiko
Kirigami and Tenshiko are a couple both in ropes and in life.
They have been teaching and performing in different European cities since 2012. In 2016 they opened School of Rope Milano, where they teach traditional bondage three times a week to local students and foreign visitors.
In 2023 they started a collaboration with Sugiura Norio Sensei, involving the organization of an international workshop, as well as the production and distribution of photographic contents, both online and on printed editions. In the same year they were invited to teach in Latin America and Australia.
Their rope is inspired by the most traditional Japanese style bondage, with an eclectic approach encompassing both private sessioning and photography.
